Leslie Vick didn’t set out to become a caregiving advocate — caregiving found her.
She grew up watching her grandmother care for her grandfather, not realizing those early moments were shaping her future. Years later, Leslie supported her father through dementia and multiple surgeries, and cared for her aunt Helen at the end of her life. Each experience taught her something new about love, resilience, and the quiet burdens families carry.
But everything changed the day her mother fell and that started the process of assisted living and care plans. That moment exposed a truth many families face: we don’t prepare for caregiving until we’re in a crisis.
Leslie turned that moment into purpose.
Today, she is the author of Finding Our Way, a book that blends practical tools with compassionate storytelling to help families feel more confident and less alone. She also hosts Senior Moments on KTTC (NBC Affiliate), where she talks openly about aging, caregiving, family conversations, and preparing before the crisis hits.
Leslie lives in Minneapolis with her family. She believes caregiving is not something we master in a moment, but something we grow through — with courage, humor, patience, and heart.
Honestly, I read this caregiving guide in small bits. During my breaks. At work. And every time it gave me some sort of calm. Like someone finally understands the chaos in our minds.

This book came to me when I was losing patience with everything. After reading two chapters I felt lighter, somehow. Not fixed, but lighter. Leslie really knows what a caregiver goes through.

I don’t usually write review. but had to say this… The book gave me a sense of direction when things felt all over the place. This book is really a simple and very practical self-help guide for caregivers.
